After on Tuesday asking if President Trump has considered resigning, April Ryan has revealed to CNN that she has received death threats from disgruntled Trump supporters.

Ryan, a White House correspondent for American Urban Radio Networks, said that those who oppose the president have thought her question was “great,” while Trump’s supporters have been outraged. At the press conference, press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders dismissed Ryan’s question as “ridiculous.” Many of the MAGA crowd seem to think similarly.

“They’re angry. I’ve been getting death threats and we’ve been calling the FBI and I mean, I put one on social media and this is real,” Ryan told CNN.

Unsurprisingly, many of the criticism from Trump supporters includes thinly — or sometimes overtly — veiled racism. Memes and horrible GIFs were also part of the barrage of hate that has been thrown at Ryan of late.

“I asked a simple question … I did not point a finger,” Ryan explained. “I asked a question and now my life is in jeopardy because of a question. But I’m going to continue to do my job.”

The question, according to Ryan, was especially relevant considering the current state of the Trump administration. She said Wednesday that sources have told her that the possibility of Trump resigning has “been on the table.”

Meanwhile, President Trump’s associates refuse to acknowledge that possibility — especially not publicly. So instead of at least acknowledging the question and treating April Ryan with dignity, Sanders — and Trump supporters once they found out — decided that brushing Ryan off and dismissing a valid question was the best way to handle the situation.

“That is not illogical, irrational. It is a real question on the table, the path [the] White House does not want to deal with because they’re trying to craft the picture, the winning image,” Ryan stated. “And there is no winning picture at this moment.”
