President Trump will visit the United Kingdom this week and the Brits have been doing a great deal to prepare for the president’s visit. A UK social media campaign has encouraged Brits to make Green Day’s 2004 hit song “American Idiot” the number 1 song on the singles chart in the country when Trump arrives in the country.
So far, the effort seems successful. On Monday, the song was number 1 on Amazon’s best sellers list. Britain’s Top 20 singles chart haw the 2004 song break into the top 20. It has been in and out of iTunes top 10 and top 20 over the last week as well.
“American Idiot” was written about President George W. Bush, though it seems particularly appropriate with reference to the Trump administration.
The campaign’s Twitter page tweeted about the effort’s success. They wrote: “We’ve crept up into the iTunes Top 10 (AND another version at #17 too!) and still at #1 on Amazon! Keep sharing to others what we are all doing!
#MAIGA” MAIGA refers, of course, to Make American Idiot Great Again.

In addition to reviving the 2004 hit song, Brits are also planning significant protests for the president’s visit. When Trump arrives in London he will be greeted by a giant inflatable Trump baby blimp. The blimp will feature an orange baby version of the president throwing a tantrum while wearing a giant diaper.
The Mayor of London gave activists permission to tether the blimp to a place in Parliament Square Gardens. The blimp has been called “Trump Baby.” Trump baby will look down on President Trump from 30 meters above the ground.
A spokesperson for the Mayor explained his decision to allow the Trump baby protest. The spokesperson said, “The Mayor supports the right to peaceful protest and understands that this can take many different forms. His city operations team have met with the organisers and have given them permission to use Parliament Square Garden as a grounding point for the blimp.”
