Protesters Shout ‘Shame’ At Ivanka Trump As She Walks Into New York School

Ivanka Trump attended a roundtable at the Institute of Technology at Central High School in Syracuse, NY on Monday. While inside the building, Ivanka discussed workforce development programs, but things became far less comfortable when she left the building.

Outside the school, Ivanka was met by protestors who confronted her about her father’s immigration policies and inhumane treatment of thousands of immigrant children torn from their parents at the border. Protestors waved signs that read “shame” and “Ivanka! Do you know where their children are?”

At the protest, a giant inflatable Trump chicken made an appearance as did a person wearing an oversized Trump costume with a sign around his neck that read “monster.”

The protestors did not confine themselves only to criticism of Ivanka and the president. Protestors also called out their representative, Rep. John Katko (R-NY). Katko attended the roundtable event with Ivanka. Katko’s 2018 challenger, Democrat Dana Balter, participated in the protest.

The protest took place a day ahead of a deadline set by a federal court. The court required the administration to reunite all of the over 100 children under age 5 who were taken from their parents at the border. As of Tuesday, the government did not meet this deadline, reuniting less than half of the youngest victims of Trump’s “zero tolerance” policy.

Participants took to Twitter to share images and support for the protests. One image showed the giant chicken. the tweet read: “About 100 protesters greet Ivanka Trump in Syracuse”

Another tweet showed the protestors displeasure with Rep. Katko. It read, “Assembling outside Katko/Ivanka event in Syracuse right now”

And another showed the greeting Ivanka received. The tweet read, The #Resistance is strong in Syracuse for Ivanka Trump’s ”

In Honor Of Trump’s Visit, Green Day’s Song ‘American Idiot’ Is At The Top Of The Charts

President Trump will visit the United Kingdom this week and the Brits have been doing a great deal to prepare for the president’s visit. A UK social media campaign has encouraged Brits to make Green Day’s 2004 hit song “American Idiot” the number 1 song on the singles chart in the country when Trump arrives in the country.

So far, the effort seems successful. On Monday, the song was number 1 on Amazon’s best sellers list. Britain’s Top 20 singles chart haw the 2004 song break into the top 20. It has been in and out of iTunes top 10 and top 20 over the last week as well.

“American Idiot” was written about President George W. Bush, though it seems particularly appropriate with reference to the Trump administration.

The campaign’s Twitter page tweeted about the effort’s success. They wrote: “We’ve crept up into the iTunes Top 10 (AND another version at #17 too!) and still at #1 on Amazon! Keep sharing to others what we are all doing! #MAIGA” MAIGA refers, of course, to Make American Idiot Great Again.

In addition to reviving the 2004 hit song, Brits are also planning significant protests for the president’s visit. When Trump arrives in London he will be greeted by a giant inflatable Trump baby blimp. The blimp will feature an orange baby version of the president throwing a tantrum while wearing a giant diaper.

The Mayor of London gave activists permission to tether the blimp to a place in Parliament Square Gardens. The blimp has been called “Trump Baby.” Trump baby will look down on President Trump from 30 meters above the ground.

A spokesperson for the Mayor explained his decision to allow the Trump baby protest. The spokesperson said, “The Mayor supports the right to peaceful protest and understands that this can take many different forms. His city operations team have met with the organisers and have given them permission to use Parliament Square Garden as a grounding point for the blimp.”

‘Go back to your own country.’ 92-year-old man beaten with a brick, L.A. cops say

Rodolfo Rodriguez, 92, set out about 8 p.m. on Independence Day on his regular evening walk around his Los Angeles neighborhood, relatives told KTLA. But what happened next was anything but routine.

When Rodriguez bumped into a young girl while trying to pass her on the sidewalk near his home, the toddler’s mother shoved him to the ground and beat him in the face with a brick, police told the station.

After a passer-by stopped to record the incident on video and call police, four men ran up and began kicking Rodriguez while the child’s mother shouted at him, reported KCBS.

“Go back to your country, why are you here, bad things,” the witness said the mother told Rodriguez, who is a legal U.S. resident, according to the station.

Rodriguez, who doesn’t understand English, still has no idea why he was attacked, his grandson, Erik Mendoza, told KCBS.

Rodriguez suffered broken ribs and a broken cheekbone, and has bruises all over his body, reported KNBC.

“Who would do this to anybody?” Mendoza told the station. “A 92-year-old senior citizen, what can he do to anybody? There’s no harm that he meant.”

Los Angeles sheriff’s investigators have reviewed the video shot by the witness and are seeking the five people who attacked Rodriguez, reported KTLA.

“We are concerned, especially with the type of crime they committed,” Deputy D’Angelo Robinson told the station. “There was what appears to be a 4-year-old child there who witnessed the entire thing. We can’t have these kind of people like that out in the streets.”

GoFundMe account has been established to help pay Rodriguez’s medical costs. The drive had raised more than $25,000 of its original $15,000 goal by Sunday morning.
